An Old Favorite, A New Classic
"Battle Over DM-17" is a reimagining of the Quake
map, "DM-17". Expanded for
12-16 players, the map duplicates and mirrors the original layout of
"DM-17". Each half of the
level takes the shape of a high-orbit spacecraft, launching boarding parties against the opposing ship.
To move between the ships, players can enter one of the map's four teleporters, ride one of the eight fighter crafts, or use of the map’s six inter-ship jump pads. In addition, each spaceship has four support fighters that alternate strafing runs. These attacks annihilate players who do not heed the audio warnings to move between ships. This ensures that player keep moving throughout the level and prevents camping.
